The Kids Fit Mile is a 1 mile run on the Atlantic City Boardwalk open to kids of all ages.  The race takes place iKids Fitn conjunction with the AmeriHealth NJ April Fools Half Marathon Race Weekend.

This year’s event was again sponsored by the Atlantic County Council of Education Associations.  Our contributions to the race promote the importance of physical fitness and correlation between health bodies and healthy minds!

Participants received a custom t-shirt and finisher medal and a chance to raise funds for the benefiting charitable organization, CASA.  CASA, Court Appointed Special Advocates, or CASA for Children recruits, trains and supports citizen-volunteers who advocate for children in the community and in the courtroom.

unnamed (3)A child with a CASA volunteer is:

  • Twice as likely to be adopted, than to linger in long-term foster care
  • Half as likely to re-enter the foster care system
  • More likely to have a plan for finding a permanent home, especially children of color
  • More likely to do better in school

In Atlantic and Cape May Counties 350 children have a CASA volunteer. A trusted adult who will stick with them until their case is resolved.  But 650 children are still waiting.
CASA of Atlantic and Cape May Counties has promised to match a volunteer with every waiting child by 2017. To do that, they need your help. Your support and participation in the Kids Fit Final Mile sponsored by Atlantic County Council of Education Associations can change a child’s life.

All proceeds benefit CASA for Children. Learn more at
